Barcelona forward Joao Felix was furious with Spanish outlet El Chiringuito for attempting to create unnecessary tensions between him and Xavi.
El Chiringuito had reposted a photo that the Portuguese winger shared, showing him with his teammates during training. This occurred right after Xavi was dismissed, and the outlet suggested that Felix was ‘relieved’ by Xavi’s departure.
Felix quickly dismissed these claims, commenting on El Chiringuito’s Instagram post: “You look for controversies wherever they don’t exist.”
Felix’s loan at Barca will conclude at the end of the season, with Hansi Flick deciding whether the club should attempt to re-sign him in the summer.
Felix is set to play his final game of the loan spell against Sevilla, having scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 43 appearances so far.
