Hansi Flick acknowledged Barcelona’s financial difficulties and agreed to take a salary 30% lower than what Xavi was earning, according to Diario Sport’s Tony Munar.
Xavi and his coaching staff were making a gross annual salary of €18 million before his departure, so Flick and his team will receive about €12.6 million gross when they begin their tenure in Barcelona.
Flick also understands that the club might not be competitive in the transfer market and is prepared to maximize the potential of the current squad.
Additionally, he has agreed to focus on developing the club’s young talents, with players like Vitor Roque expected to thrive under his guidance.
