Barcelona’s agreement with Hansi Flick is set for just one season, according to Roger Torello of Mundo Deportivo.
The contract includes an option for an additional year, which will be at Barcelona’s discretion to either extend or terminate after the next season.
The club is hesitant to commit to a long-term contract with Flick, who is in agreement with this stance. His salary will match the €5 million per year that Xavi currently earns.
Torello also claims that Flick reached a full agreement with Barcelona three weeks ago, pending the dismissal of Xavi and the official announcement of Flick.
Xavi, unaware of Barcelona’s plan to sack him, has only learned about it through the media. However, a meeting with the club’s leadership is scheduled for Monday to clarify the situation.
In the meantime, Xavi has reportedly turned down an offer to coach the South Korean national team.
