Barcelona have announced that Xavi will be leaving his position as head coach at the end of the season.
Club President Joan Laporta has informed Xavi that he will not continue as the coach next season, with his final match scheduled for this Sunday at 9:00 p.m. against Sevilla. The club expressed gratitude for Xavi’s contributions and wished him the best for the future.
Xavi’s departure is attributed to a significant difference in views between him and Laporta. Xavi believes the club’s financial situation hampers their ability to compete with teams like Real Madrid, while Laporta disagrees.
Under Xavi, Barcelona did not win any trophies this season, having been eliminated from the Champions League quarter-finals by PSG and losing La Liga with five games remaining.
Although Xavi had initially planned to leave in January, he decided to stay after being persuaded by Laporta.
