After an incredible season for VfB Stuttgart, Serhou Guirassy is expected to depart the German team this summer.
In 30 games played in 2023–2024, the 28-year-old Guinea international has scored 30 goals, including 28 in 28 Bundesliga outings.
On the list of the top Bundesliga scorers this season, he was just behind Harry Kane (36 goals).
Stuttgart finished second in the Bundesliga, one point ahead of Bayern, thanks to goals by Guirassy.
Stuttgart has thus earned a spot in the UEFA Champions League for the next season.
But Guirassy is probably going to depart MHPArena before his current team’s European tour kicks off.
Due to Guirassy’s outstanding play in Germany, Stuttgart is expected to move its star striker this summer, according to information obtained by CaughtOffside.
Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, and Tottenham have all shown interest in Guirassy, and sources close to Stuttgart say that the German club’s managers are already evaluating potential successors.
This season, Guirassy—who is 6 feet 2 inches tall—has mostly played as a center striker, although he can also play on the left flank.
Since Richarlison is the only senior specialist striker now on the London team, Tottenham is probably going to look for a new frontman this summer.
In the 2023–24 season, Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou was obliged to employ Son Heung-min, a wide player by nature, as his main man through the middle due to Richarlison’s injury.
Richarlison scored 11 goals in 28 Premier League appearances, compared to 17 goals from Son in 34.
This season, Spurs as a team scored 74 league goals, 17 more than Man United.
The only United players to score ten goals in a league match were Bruno Fernandes and Rasmus Hojlund.
Dortmund, meanwhile, hasn’t had a really effective striker this year.
With 13 and 12 goals, respectively, Donyell Malen and Niclas Fullkrug were their top scorers in the Bundesliga.
Dortmund’s team total this season is just 68 goals in the Bundesliga, which is the lowest since the 2017–18 campaign.
For the first time in nine years, the team from the Westfalenstadion did not place in the top four of Germany’s championship level, finishing fifth instead.
Dortmund has, nevertheless, advanced to the Champions League in the following season due to Germany’s UEFA club coefficient position.
The Champions League final, which Dortmund will play Real Madrid at Wembley Stadium on June 1, was a major factor in raising their ranking.
